Top 4 Things to do at California Adventure with an Active Toddler
Jacob and I got our annual pass when he was a year old, and as he has gotten older, our trips to the parks have been a lot of trial and error. Toddlers, in general, feel the need to roam around and gain some independence. Jacob, in particular, is active, loves to be on the move, and wants to do it all on his own. But at a place like California Adventure, where everything includes a line, you have to find things to do that lessen wait times.
The viewing area of the Pixar Pier ferris wheel is a great open place to allow your toddler let out some energy and take on some sights. Jacob loves to look at all the rides and meet new people and other toddler friends doing the same thing. I like to take Jacob here before he starts to get squirmy in the stroller or in the carrier.
Next up, the Redwood Challenge trail located by Grizzly River Run. This trail has you and your toddler exploring on a mini adventure. You both can travel on a little wilderness trail overlooking rocks and waterfalls that leads to a fun play area with a rock slide, cave, tunnels, and nets to climb.

Head on over to A Bug's Land and check out the fun splash pad for kids to splash around in and cool off! This was so much fun for Jacob, and so perfect for those hot, summer days! All kids must be wearing shoes at the splash pad and wearing tops and bottoms. I planned on bringing Jacob to the splash pad this day, so I put him in board shorts, rash guard, and water shoes. And, of course, bring a towel to dry off.
Last, but not least, Jacob's favorite ride, The Little Mermaid! This ride is so cute, and most importantly, the line is usually quick! I like to take Jacob in the carrier when we're waiting in line for this ride. I've tried to wait in line without the carrier, and we didn't make it. But this ride is definitely a must see for little babes!
